WordPress Setup Guide

Connect Memo2Post to your WordPress blog to automatically publish generated blog posts.

What You Will Need

  • WordPress site with admin access
  • Your WordPress domain or site URL
  • A few minutes to create an application password

Step 1: Access Your WordPress Settings

Login to your WordPress dashboard

Go to example.com/wp-admin and log in with your WordPress credentials.

Once logged in, you will see the WordPress dashboard. Look for the menu on the left side of the screen. You need to go to your user settings to create an application password.

Step 2: Navigate to Application Passwords

  1. Click on your username in the top right corner of the WordPress dashboard
  2. Select "Edit Profile" from the dropdown menu
  3. Scroll down to find the "Application Passwords" section

If you do not see "Application Passwords," your WordPress site might need an update or the feature might be disabled. Check with your hosting provider.

Step 3: Create a New Application Password

  1. In the "Application Passwords" section, type "Memo2Post" in the text field
  2. Click the "Create Application Password" button
  3. WordPress will generate a unique password for Memo2Post
  4. Copy this password somewhere safe (you will only see it once)

Important: This password is specific to Memo2Post. It does not give us access to your WordPress username or actual account password. You can revoke it at any time from your WordPress settings.

Step 4: Connect to Memo2Post

  1. Log into your Memo2Post account
  2. Go to Settings and select "Integrations"
  3. Find WordPress and click "Connect"
  4. Enter your WordPress site URL (example.com)
  5. Enter your WordPress username
  6. Paste the application password you created in Step 3
  7. Click "Verify Connection"

If the connection is successful, you will see a green checkmark next to WordPress in your Integrations page.

Step 5: Test the Integration

Publish your first post

  1. Create a new content package in Memo2Post
  2. When reviewing your generated blog post, select "Publish to WordPress"
  3. Choose whether to publish immediately or schedule for later
  4. Click "Publish"

Check your WordPress dashboard to confirm the post appeared. If it did not, check that the application password was entered correctly.

Troubleshooting

Connection Failed: Invalid Credentials

Make sure you copied the application password exactly as WordPress generated it. If you lost the password, delete it from your WordPress settings and create a new one.

Connection Failed: Cannot Reach WordPress

Double-check your WordPress site URL. It should be the same URL you use to access your WordPress dashboard, but without "/wp-admin" at the end.

Post Not Appearing in WordPress

Check that the WordPress user account you connected has "Editor" or "Administrator" permissions. The account needs permission to create posts.

Application Passwords Not Available

Your WordPress installation might not have application passwords enabled. You may need to update WordPress to the latest version or check with your hosting provider.
